BBC's anti-Boris bias 'so deeply ingrained in its DNA', slams commentator

[-WATCH UK TV LIVE-]

Earlier this week, BBC host Martine Croxall was caught on camera laughing as she asked: “Am I allowed to be this gleeful?” while sharing the news of Boris Johnson’s withdrawal from the race to be Prime Minister. Of course, the BBC is meant to be impartial and Croxall quickly found herself facing a backlash from viewers.

On Sunday’s edition of The Papers, Croxall stated: “"Well this is all very exciting, isn't it?

"Hello and welcome to our look ahead to what the papers will be bringing us tomorrow. Am I allowed to be this gleeful? Well, I am."

Croxall faced suspension for her comment about Johnson and has led to the BBC being slammed for its “anti-Boris bias”.

Writing in his column for The Sun, Tony Parsons argued: “The political orthodoxy at the BBC is now so deeply ingrained, so buried within the corporation’s DNA, that it never crossed Croxall’s mind that millions might object.

“You know, the 14million or so who actually voted for Boris Johnson.”

He went on to jibe: “Even if not a single one of them is in the BBC canteen.”

Following Croxall’s outburst, the newly-installed news and current affairs executive at the BBC, Deborah Turness was said to have described the incident as “frustrating”.

The BBC went on to confirm they would be reviewing Croxall’s behaviour on The Papers on the News Channel.

Taking to Twitter to respond to the review of Croxall, Chris posted: “Why haven’t Laura Kuenssberg and Fiona Bruce been removed for lack of impartiality?"

“Interesting how when a presenter shows emotion for the fact the papers had to rapidly change their front pages you pull her off air," user @CMemories73 posted.

“Yet you allow Laura Kusenberg and Fiona Bruce to keep on being biased on their shows?"

Patricia H argued: "Just read Maxine, newsreader, is to be investigated for impartiality.
