The Strictly host has been alongside her friend and long-running presenter on the main show since taking over from Bruce Forsyth. Although with the competition approaching its 20th year, the 50-year-old has spoken about her future on Strictly.

Since Strictly first launched nearly two decades ago, Claudia Winkleman has been a familiar face with fans after hosting It Takes Two for six years before co-hosting the regular show.

Each Saturday night, viewers tune in to see the presenter speak to the celebrities after they perform their routines and wait for their scores from the judges.

Being one of the first people that they speak to after performing, Claudia often offers them reassurance, words of encouragement and some humour.

After failing to impress judges Craig Revel Horwood, Motsi Mabuse, Shirley Ballas and Anton Du Beke with his Jive he was sent home with partner Nadiya Bychkova.

Although first, the dancing duo had to go head-to-head with Kym Marsh and Graziano Di Prima who had to redo their Samba to Volare.

When it came to deciding which of the two stars should remain in the competition, it was a unanimous decision with all judges choosing Kym.

Speaking to Tess before exiting the show, Matt commented: "It’s an extraordinary experience, I have been in America for 25 years.

"Thank you judges for your candour, you’ve helped me in many ways… This lovely lady beside me, a world champion with all the patience.

"I am very honoured to have danced with you, and everyone who is still in, I love you guys, go smash it guys."

It may have been over for Matt on the BBC show but on the other end of the leaderboard, Hamza Yassin and Jowita Przystal wowed the judges which earned them a near-perfect score of 39 out of a possible 40.

Strictly Come Dancing continues Saturday on BBC One from 6:30pm
