'I cried a lot': Harry and Sandra Redknapp heartbreakingly reveal they suffered a miscarriage over 50 years ago... admitting they 'didn't know how to handle it'
Harry Redknapp and his wife Sandra have revealed that they tragically lost a child back in 1969, with the former hairdresser suffering a miscarriage while 12 weeks pregnant.
The former footballer, 75, and his wife of 55 years have opened up about the horrific experience in their new book - When Harry Met Sally.
And admitting they 'didn't know how to handle it and 'cried a lot', Sandra, 76, recalled the experience, which happened while she walked home through snow on a winter's night - losing feeling in her feet and hands.

Harry and Sandra are parents to two sons, Jamie and Mark, and also share eight grandchildren.
But detailing a miscarriage during Sandra's first pregnancy back in 1969, the pair revealed the tragic time for the first time in their new book.
Recalling the day, Sandra writes in the book how she had finished work one day in the winter and couldn't catch a bus home - leaving her to walk home to Barking on the cold night.
And walking in deep snow, the at-the-time hairdresser lost all feeling in her feet and arms and felt unwell, explaining that she 'knew' straight away she was having a miscarraige.

Detailing her choice to open up about it for the first time in the new book, Sandra explained to OK! Magazine that she hoped to help people with the story.
'Harry was away playing football when I had the miscarriage. Not many people know about it. I did think to myself, "Have I opened up too much?" but if it helps someone that’s all that matters,' she said.
The grandmother also admitted thate she 'cried a lot' until falling pregnant with son Mark, now 52, three months later.
She told the publication: 'It’s nice to know you’re not alone. Back then nobody talked about it and I don’t think anyone knew how to handle it, especially men.'

Completing the brood, they welcomed youngest son Jamie four years after the ordeal.
Sandra and Harry's relationship hit the spotlight back in 2018, during the latter's stint on I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here - where he spoke with such sweet candour of the love he has for his wife.
