Michael J Fox put on his brightest smile last night as he arrived on the red carpet at A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To Cure Parkinson's in New York.

The brave Marty McFly actor, 61, who has been suffering with his health ever since he was diagnosed with young-onset Parkinson's disease in 1991 at the age of 29, arrived at the event alongside his wife, Tracy Pollan, and three of their children: Sam, 33, Aquinnah, 27, and Schuyler, 27.

The couple also share 20-year-old daughter Esmé, but she was not seen at the event.

Both Tracy and Michael are co-chairs of the benefit, and hosted an evening of comedy and music performances to raise money for The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research.

It comes just after Back to the Future legend Michael revealed he had suffered with multiple broken bones in the past year, but had been “feeling it more" recently.

He told People Magazine: "It got worse, I broke my cheek, then my hand, then my shoulder, had a replacement shoulder put in and broke my (right) arm, then I broke my elbow.

"I'm 61 years old, and I'm feeling it a little bit more."
