NCIS LA season 14: Kilbride devastated as friend tied to deadly mission: ‘One of the best'

[-WATCH UK TV LIVE-]

The 14th season of NCIS: Los Angeles is officially underway after last week’s explosive premiere, and the special agents face another onslaught of high-stakes missions over the coming weeks. However, it’s their team leader Hollace Kilbride (played by Gerald McRaney) who could face the biggest challenge after Devin Roundtree (Caleb Castille) is tasked with looking into an old friend next time on the hit CBS drama.

Kilbride is on the hunt for a retired war hero in the next episode of NCIS: LA, Of Value.

The hit NCIS spin-off’s new season began with a flying start last week with a shocking twist for the team’s long-standing Operations Manager, Hetty Lange (Linda Hunt).

Thankfully, the stalwart OM seems to have survived her latest predicament, and agents G Callen (Chris O’Donnell) and Sam Hanna (LL Cool J) didn’t take long to get back into the field.

A new sneak peek at episode two has also established a new goal for Hetty’s interim replacement, Admiral Kilbride, who is looking for an old friend.

In the footage, he asks Agent Roundtree to bring up Colonel Jackson Ladd (Gregory D Gadson), a decorated veteran who saw action in a number of recent conflicts.

Roundtree reveals his listed address is not current, as his name was taken off the utilities about six months prior.

Kilbride asks the agent to look into Ladd’s current position, before Roundtree inquires why he’s so important.

“He’s one of the best to ever put on a uniform,” Kilbride explains.

Having completely lost control of his life after more than two decades in the forces, Kilbride will stop at nothing to ensure one of his most respected friends is safe.

Guest star Gregory is listed to appear in this episode, though it’s possible this may only be through the photograph seen in the clip.

Additionally, Colonel Ladd and Kilbride’s friendship could be glimpsed in flashback scenes, leaving his current whereabouts still unknown.

There’s a strong possibility Ladd’s position will remain a mystery in this episode, giving the Admiral a pressing new mission to work on throughout the season.

Meanwhile, agents Callen, Marty Deeks (Eric Christian Olsen) and the rest of the team have their own matters to attend.

The synopsis for this week’s episode reads: “After an architect duo who specialises in designing secure buildings is kidnapped, the NCIS team mounts a search to bring them home.

“Also, Deeks and Kensi (Daniela Ruah) realise they may need to get Rosa (Natalia Del Riego) some help with her schoolwork, and Anna (Bar Paly) considers a career outside of law enforcement.”

NCIS: Los Angeles season 14 continues Sundays on CBS in the USA. A UK release date is yet to be announced.
