SEAL Team season 6 theory: Ray causes team death as new Syria mission lies ahead

[-WATCH UK TV LIVE-]

The current season of SEAL Team has put the team under even more pressure both during their latest ops and back at home. With Clay Spenser (played by Max Thieriot) out of action after thanks to a life-altering injury, Jason Hayes (David Boreanaz) and his crack team of officers will have to keep their wits about them as the Paramount+ drama heads back to Syria.

Bravo Team’s next mission could end with a devastating outcome for Jason’s squad.

The synopsis for this Sunday’s episode, Strange Bedfellows, keeps things short and sweet but it could have huge implications for the show’s future.

It reads: “BRAVO is called back to Syria to handle some unfinished business.”

A new promo has also previewed some tense undercover work and an altercation with sword-wielding insurgents.

The show’s official Twitter page has teased: “Back to Syria. Back to the fight. Backs against the wall.”

Commander Eric Blackburn (Judd Lormand) informs the team they’ll be splitting up once their feet have barely touched the ground.

This will put Jason and his squad at even greater risk of enemy fire, and this mission could be one which lasts over multiple episodes as they scramble to regroup.

Moreover, some fans are also concerned Jason’s trusted friend Ray Perry (Neil Brown Jr) has been put in command this time around.

To which @SSAFunsub added: “Pressuring Jason to tell Omar about his TBI, but will he tell Omar about his PTS and almost getting Brock killed? I don’t think so!”

This season, Ray has also been moving closer to retirement, so his head may not be in the right place to make sure everyone is accounted for on this mission.

If his PTS gets the better of him, Bravo’s tactics could suffer, leaving them vulnerable in Syria without any backup.

Thankfully, fan-favourite Clay will be remaining safe back at home, his recovery from having his leg amputated still receiving his full attention.

However, the latter half of this shortened instalment of SEAL Team could up the ante by taking out a major member of the core group.

In the trailer, Jason still seems to have his head on his shoulders as he faces a group of hostiles head-on.

Even so, SEAL Team has always reflected the harsh realities of military life, so it should come as no surprise if there are some casualties from Bravo’s remaining missions this season.

SEAL Team season 6 continues Sundays on Paramount+.
