Helen Skelton, 39, and Richie Myler, 32, confirmed their split in April after nine years of marriage. The announcement came just four months after the birth of their daughter, Elsie, who is the little sister of their sons Ernie, seven, and Louis, five.
In an unearthed interview from when they were still an item, Helen confessed that they had been “staying out of each other’s way” and looking after their children “in shifts”.
In the chat, which was conducted last year, the Strictly Come Dancing star was asked whether the pair still had time to go on dates, Helen replied: “No... We're not in the house together – we are staying out of each other's way.
"We say this is the dream as we have breakfast, lunch and dinner together but then look after the kids in shifts.”
She also added to the Mirror that keeping their distance had made them “appreciate” each other.

In her new column, Helen admitted Gorka’s emotional speech took her by surprise, but gave her a “wake-up call”.
She wrote in The Telegraph: “I certainly wasn't expecting Gorka to give me a pep talk live on air, but it came from a good place and he just wants me to do my best.
“What he said was a bit of a wake-up call, really: there's no time to be nervous. When I'm on that dancefloor, I've just got to get on with it.”
This week, Helen and Gorka will be performing a Charleston to the original Blue Peter theme tune to mark the centenary celebrations of the BBC.
