EastEnders' Alfie Moon in danger as he's threatened at gunpoint to rob Phil

[-WATCH UK & US TV LIVE-]

With Phil (played by Steve McFadden) currently away from Walford, Alfie (Shane Richie) has been trying to reconnect with his sons. However, the EastEnders favourite ends up in big trouble in upcoming episodes after stumbling across Phil's stash of money and later being forced at gunpoint to steal it on the BBC soap.

In scenes yet to air, Alfie tries to reassure his ex Kat (Jessie Wallace) that he has got everything under control at home.

Trying to distract the boys, Alfie challenges them to try to guess Phil's code to the safe.

However, they end up working it out together and find a huge amount of cash inside.

Sam Mitchell (Kim Medcalf) turns up soon after, and Alfie quickly tells his children to put the money back.

Later, Alfie struggles as he tries to juggle problems at the cab office but needs to get to the shops to buy Tommy Moon (Sonny Kendall) a zombie video game.

When Mitch Baker's (Roger Griffiths) cab breaks down, Alfie drives Vi Highway (Gwen Taylor) to bingo instead.

He ends up with just enough time to get to the game shop for his son.

However, a masked gunman then jumps into Alfie's cab, further ruining his plans.

Keith, the gunman, has just robbed a building society and demands that Alfie be his getaway driver.

However, Alfie takes a risk and drives to the shop to get Tommy's game anyway.

Back at No 55, Alfie tells Tommy about Phil's missing money and is amused when Tommy offers to sort it out for him.

Alfie tries to persuade Mick Carter (Danny Dyer) to "invest" in a food festival, but he declines, and so does Bobby Beale (Clay Milner Russell).

With the money gone and Stacey knowing that Alfie knew the code of the safe, it's likely he will get the blame when Phil returns and realises the money is gone.

Could this further dash Alfie's hopes of a reunion with Kat?

It could be that an unforgiving Phil demands revenge, but will Kat end up believing Alfie's story?

Phil was last seen about a month ago after he decided to flee when he received a mystery phone call.

Phil had been in a tricky situation, blackmailed by DCI Keeble (Alison Newman) to help her land Billy Mitchell (Perry Fenwick) in jail and also being threatened by his ex, Shirley Carter (Linda Henry).

Shirley informed him that she'd tell everyone he's been grassing to Keeble unless he handed over ownership of Peggy's Nightclub.

Phil's rival Jonah (Mark Mooney) has also been around, so Phil decided to get away.

If he returns soon, he's bound to be in need of money and will probably notice quickly that it's missing.

Will Alfie be able to sort the issue out before Phil comes back?

Perhaps he will end up confiding in Kat, who might end up lying to Phil about what happened to the money to protect him.

Alfie has been trying to get back together with Kat since he returned - could this be the start of the two growing closer again?

EastEnders continues on Thursday at 7.30pm on BBC One.
