Jennie Bond blasts Prince Harry for 'not protecting' Meghan Markle in new royal life

Last week, the first half of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's Netflix documentary was released. Throughout the episodes, it focused on The Duchess of Sussex adapting to a new world of royalty as she highlighted not being shown how to conduct certain procedures properly. However, journalist Jennie Bond has slammed her husband for not helping her adjust.

On Thursday's instalment of Good Morning Britain, hosts Ranvir Singh and Adil Ray were touching on the first half of Harry and Meghan’s Netflix documentary ahead of the second half being released.

During their conversation, they touched on the allegations that Meghan Markle made about not being taught how to adapt to life such as not knowing how to curtsy and having to learn the national anthem on Google.

Addressing this, Ranvir asked royal correspondent Jennie Bond if those claims in the docu-series ring true and if she feels any sympathy for The Sussex’s.

She replied: “Well I’ve always been very sympathetic to them, I think they were given a great welcome at the start of their marriage.

In the documentary, Meghan highlighted that she wasn’t aware of what a royal walkabout was before having to do her first with her husband.

Harry commented: “I could talk her through as much as I knew from my own experience of what I'd seen.

“The piece I really didn't know about was the style, right, and what a woman needed, how they needed to dress and all that.”

During the segment, the Duchess of Sussex commented on being flustered over what to wear and wanted to ensure her earrings were by a British designer.

Despite her zip-breaking moments before, members of the public commented on how well Meghan had done.

In a cutaway, Harry added that everyone there was pleased and happy to see them both.

He said: “I've found someone that not necessarily finds this easy but is able to do it and make it look easy.”

The second half of Meghan and Harry’s Netflix documentary drops on Thursday 15 December at 8am.

Good Morning Britain continues weekdays on ITV from 6am
