Gordon Ramsay is arguably more famous for his potty mouth than for any of his kitchen recipes, but he claims he is now more mellowed out.
The 56-year-old Scottish chef has been known to scream insults into the faces of fellow kitchen workers and for using course language to express when he is less than happy.
But now he says he is more caring and compassionate - and that viewers will soon see the more mild manner side of his personality.
Gordy is due to appear on ITV this week in his new show, Next Level Chef, which will see contestants battling to win £100,000 and a one-year mentorship.
He told The Sun on Sunday that he took a softer approach when it comes to interacting and judging the contestants on the new show.
Gordon said: “I’m even more caring now, because I’m at the age I am. My job is to get the best out of the contestants.
“I’ve learned a level of vulnerability. You forget those insecurities when you haven’t got secure footings and you’re going from job to job struggling to pay bills.”
Claiming he is an open book, he added: “I’ve always been honest. When it’s great, it’s great, when it’s s**t, it’s s**t.”
While Gordon is excited about his new series, fellow reality star judge Sir Lord Alan Sugar, 75, has been left unimpressed by Gordon’s new series - which many are dubbing a ‘rip off’ of The Apprentice for cooking fans.
Taking aim at the rival show before it begins, Lord Sugar told the Daily Mail last week: "I like [him] and I think he's very good and should stick to what he should do, cooking and all that stuff.
"I don't know how the lawyers allowed it because it was a virtual rip-off of The Apprentice. No disrespect to Gordon but stick to your day job mate that's all I would say."
Gordon previously defended his own show from such criticisim.
He explained to the Radio Times recently that his series is a "food and drink lifestyle business show" - but teased at the time that it may "rub" Lord Sugar's feathers "the wrong way".
Gordon further commented: "I think I've lost a customer there. Who gives a f**k? [...] But all jokes apart, I'm a big fan of The Apprentice."
Meanwhile, former Apprentice winner Joseph Valente took aim at the BBC series last week - saying he thinks it has run out of steam.
Arguing that the contestants are too similar year after year, he said: "They look identical.
“There's always the cheeky chappy, the guy who's rough around the edges, the posh one. They always have a profile that they try and fit, absolutely.
“You look back at the last 17 seasons or something you're going to be able to match the candidates like for like. Except me of course! They've never had a contestant like me before!"
