Lewis Ellis has spoken of the bullying that goes on during The Apprentice and how shocked he was when Lord Alan Sugar trolled him online.

Lewis, who has founded a travel and marketing company and made it into the final five of the show, was trolled over his large number of tattoos.

Whilst he expected it from the viewers, he said that he was surprised to see that Lord Sugar had decided to join in on the bashing.

His comments came after Lewis starred in an advert to promote Finland as one of the show's tasks.

The Mancunian showed off his heavily-tattooed torso, which he was mocked for.

Taking to Twitter as the show aired, Lord Sugar wrote: "Lewis, your tattoos are horrific. Tell me where I am missing the point. What does he look like?"

Shocked by the trolling, Lewis hit back: “F*** what other people think about you! Thank you to everyone who took some time to show support for my ‘horrific’ tattoos and pointing out no one has the right to judge you or your body.”

Lord Sugar retweeted him, and replied: “Lewis, your tattoos tell your story. What are you? A Kindle?

“You have the right to do what you want to your body. I have the right of an opinion. I say they are horrible," continued the 75-year-old.

“When your 50 on the beach you’ll wear a T-shirt. You will be an embarrassment to your kids.”

Speaking to The Sun, Lewis said: "I was prepared to be made fun of on the show, and I was watching it like a person watching the show, laughing at myself, laughing at what we were doing.

“The only bit I didn't expect was Lord Sugar to start joining in, taking pop shots at you.

“I signed up for the public to take the p*** out of me, I signed up knowing I'd get criticism, I didn't sign up for the criticism to come from within the TV show itself," he added.

The entrepreneur said that he thought Sugar's comments were "snide" and advised people not to meet their heroes.

However, Lewis got the last laugh after he got Alan tattooed onto his arm with him looking shady whilst holding a gun.

Lewis said that the show was so stressful that he started losing his hair.

He suffers from Alopecia, which flared up again from the intensity of the show.

He said that the process of the show is "unhealthy", by revealing that they would often eat fast food, didn't have time to exercise and the hours were incredibly long.

He described it as being back in nursery school "if nursery was prison", adding that there are no phones, no news, no TV and no trips to the shop allowed.
