Prince Harry and Meghan Markle being forced to give up Frogmore Cottage is a possible "big sign" they might not attend the Coronation.

It has been reported that King Charles made the decision to remove the Sussexes from the Windsor property as there has been no thaw in their relationship with the Royal Family and it has been offered to Prince Andrew.

Now it is reported that Harry and Meghan are arranging for the belongings that they still have at Frogmore Cottage to be sent to their home in California.

And sources say that the Sussexes have been left "stunned" by the decision with at least two members of the Royal Family "appalled".

It comes as a big question mark has been hanging over whether the couple would come to the UK to see Harry's father crowned as King on May 6.

And the Mirror's royal editor Russell Myers has said the possible removal of Frogmore Cottage from Harry and Meghan could be very telling.

Speaking on ITV's Lorraine this morning, he said: "We are trickling through the days, it's less than 10 weeks now until the Coronation, of course the King is trying to get all of his ducks in a row about what that means for himself, and his family as well.

"Will Harry and Meghan be at the Coronation, this is possibly a big sign that they won't be.

"Will they be welcomed from the family? There is a lot of talk on whether they will come over.

"I was just told last week by people very close to Harry that he hadn't made a decision and he was still undecided.

"However, will that decision be taken out of his hands?"

According to Omid Scobie, one of the authors behind the biography of Harry and Meghan, Finding Freedom, the King's decision came after Harry released his controversial memoir Spare in January.

He claims that the couple was told the property was needed for "someone else" and that relations between Harry and Meghan and the rest of the Firm was at "an all-time low".

He also adds that a source says Harry and Meghan have been given until the summer, after the Coronation, to remove their belongings after initially being told they would just be given two weeks.

And quotes a friend of the couple on Yahoo as saying: "It all feels very final and like a cruel punishment. It’s like [the family] want to cut them out of the picture for good."

The late Queen gifted Frogmore Cottage to Harry and Meghan in the months after their wedding back in 2018.

It was converted into one home, having previously been five separate properties for staff working on the Windsor Estate.

The whole renovation cost the £2.4million and the property is thought to have five bedrooms, a kitchen, a sitting room and a nursery first designed for Archie.

The Sussexes only lived in the cottage for six months before sensationally quitting as working royals and moving to California. They repaid the cost of the renovations.

The Royal Family is understood to be "fully expecting" Harry and Meghan at the Coronation despite reported anger at allegations in his memoir Spare.

Government advisers are also putting plans in place in case Harry decides to attend the coronation in a 48-hour whirlwind trip.

One scenario is that Harry may come to the event on his own, with Meghan staying at home in California. Their son Archie’s fourth birthday is also on May 6.
