Jeremy Clarkson has addressed claims Who Wants To Be A Millionaire? has been scrapped by ITV.
The television presenter came under fire, after sharing his opinions on Meghan Markle and has since apologised but it had been claimed he may have lost his job on the ITV programme.
Jeremy, 62, has fronted the show since its revival in 2018 and has appeared on eight seasons, helping members of the public attempt to walk away with £1 million.
Now, the former Top Gear presenter has taken to his social media channel to share his side of the story and shut down claims he had lost his job.
Jeremy wrote: "So many kind messages about today's reports. But relax. Lisa and I have not split up and I have not been sacked as host of Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?"
His legion of fans were quick to flock to the replies section to rejoice the news, with one penning: "Glad to hear it @JeremyClarkson you're one of the few people on TV that I find entertaining, humorous & worth watching."
"Great news we all love you and you raising so much awareness for farmers it's amazing," commented a second.
"Good news. Clarkson's the only thing that makes the programme watchable," tweeted another.
The speculations came after ITV boss Carolyn McCall hinted that the upcoming series of the quiz show could be Clarkson's last as his contract draws to a close.
A spokesperson for ITV told The Mirror: "As we have said for several weeks, ITV is contractually committed to a further series of Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? (which has now been recorded.)
"There are no further commissioning commitments beyond that currently as is typical with such shows where we make commissioning decisions on a series-by-series basis.
"Therefore for the avoidance of doubt neither Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? nor Jeremy Clarkson have been cancelled."
Hours prior to this, a spokesperson stated: "As we have said before, ITV has a further series of Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? contractually commissioned [which has now recorded], and no further commissioning commitments beyond that currently."
Carolyn had reportedly been in talks to cut Clarkson from the job following his blistering comments towards the Duchess of Sussex, as she told Variety: "We have a contract, we're contracted to this [season], so we will do that.
"And then we have no future commitments."
She later added that there was no bad blood between the network and Mr Clarkson, explaining that ITV supported him prior to Amazon Prime announcing they would be standing by him.
Carolyn explained: "So we came out very quickly and just said, you know, that wasn't on ITV but we don't endorse that in any way and there's no place for that on ITV."
