Only Fools and Horses fans go wild as David Jason reunites with former co-star

Sir David Jason has delighted Only Fools and Horses fans thanks to reuniting with one of his former co-stars.

Actor Vas Blackwood may have only appeared in one episode of the BBC series back in 1986 but his legacy was clear to see as he posed for a snap with Del Boy actor David, 83, recently.

Vas, who became the iconic comedy's most memorable extra when he played Lennox Gilbey in The Longest Night episode, shared the sweet picture with his Instagram followers over the weekend- sending Only Fools and Horses fans on a trip down memory lane.

Wearing a grey tracksuit and beaming as he wrapped an arm around David in the snap, 'The Shadow' actor captioned the reunion picture: "Sh Ah Dow & Del go robbing again."

Vas' Only Fools and Horses cameo came about in the September 1986 episode that followed Del Boy, Rodney, and Uncle Albert Trotter as they are held up in a supermarket during a chaotic robbery.

Lennox first introduces himself the the trio as 'The Shadow' while brandishing a pistol and tells the Trotters: "I'm a man of mystery me, a master of disguises, the man with a thousand faces."

Alongside comparing himself to the Scarlet Pimpernel and quoting some of his own terrible poetry, hapless criminal Lennox tells his hostages: "They seek him here, they seek him there, those policemen seek him everywhere, is he in heaven, or is he in hell, the elusive Sha-aa-dow!"

Over 25 years on from the episode first airing on the BBC, Only Fools and Horses fans have been reminded of the chaotic episode thanks to Vas' Instagram snap with David.

"One of my favourite episodes from one of my favourite ever shows," one happy fan commented underneath Vas' update over the weekend.

"This is amazing," another added, as a third quipped: "Great picture that. Did he remember that he sold your mum a dodgy watch!! Lol."

One fan declared: "Only made 1 appearance in ofah and you smashed it vas."

Since starring alongside David in Only Fools and Horses back in the 80s, Vas has forged a successful career for himself in the entertainment industry.

The actor has enjoyed stints on shows like Casualty and the Lenny Henry Show, alongside making appearances in movies like The Guvnors, Essex Boys Retribution, White Collar Hooligan 2: England Away and Daylight Robbery.

Vas' most impressive film credit came about in 1998, when he appeared as Rory Breaker, a drug-dealing gangster with a reputation for violence, in Guy Ritchie's smash-hit, Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels.
