Woman claiming to be Madeleine McCann reveals next steps as she awaits DNA test results

The Polish woman claiming to be Madeleine McCann has revealed to Dr Phil what her next steps are once she receives her DNA results back.

Julia Faustyna, 21, appeared on the long-running talk show on Monday and told the host she was adamant she was the missing school child who disappeared while on holiday with her parents in Praia De Luz, Portugal, in 2007.

Julia, who also goes by the name of Julia Wendell or Julia Wandelt, admitted she has always questioned her birth and ancestry and says the woman who raised her as her mum would always change the topic of conversation and has withheld information such as her birth certificate.

She is currently waiting for the DNA results which will confirm or deny her suspicions.

Dr Phil asked why she hadn't sent her DNA to Scotland Yard for testing yet as they would be able to compare it to samples held for the missing child.

She claimed however that she had attempted to contacted the organisation but to no avail and now she is awaiting the results of an ancestry test to discover the truth.

Dr Phil continued to push on the point and asked what Julia would do if in fact the Polish couple who raised her were her biological family, she firmly stated: "I believe I am Madeleine McCann.

"If she is my mother, I don’t want to have contact with her that’s all, but I believe she isn’t my mother."

Julia continued to nail down her beliefs and insisted she will undergo any test necessary for her to prove her claim.

As part of her "evidence", Julia discussed how the first six pages on her health book every Polish child has were mysteriously blank - as too was her early childhood memory.

Discussing her only early memory, she said: "Beach and water, like sea or ocean, and there were turtles and children … and I remembered light-coloured buildings, like white or very light colours, sunlight on this buildings."

It's claimed that this memory has a resemblance of the architecture and environment in which Madeleine disappeared almost 16 years ago.

Julia's parents previously admitted they were devastated by the whole situation and claimed she wasn't receiving treatment she needed for mental health issues.

In a statement released in February, they revealed: "For us as a family it is obvious that Julia is our daughter, granddaughters, sister, niece, cousin and step niece.

"Threats to our address from Julia, her lies and manipulations, activity on the internet. The interest won’t forget, and it’s obvious that Julia isn’t Maddie. We are devastated at this current situation."

Kate and Gerry McCann, Madeleine's parents, are yet to make any official statement on the matter.
