The third season of Superman and Lois concluded with Arrow favourite John Diggle (played by David Ramsey) dropping in with some troubling news for metal-suited hero, John Henry Irons aka Steel (Wolé Parks). Notorious crime boss Bruno Mannheim (Chad L Coleman) is hellbent on knocking Clark Kent/Superman (Tyler Hoechlin) down a peg, but Express.co.uk has revealed another epic brawl is still to come in an exclusive chat with the cast.

Superman and Lois regular Parks has confirmed fans will find out more about John Henry’s past when he goes up against Bruno Mannheim later this season.

At the end of the second season finale, Diggle meets up with Henry to discover why the gang leader killed this Earth’s version of Steel.

John Henry first arrived in Smallville in season one, and revealed he was from an alternate reality where he is married to Clark’s wife, Lois Lane (Elizabeth Tulloch).

Now he’s made himself known on this new Earth as Superman’s armoured partner, it won’t take long for Mannheim to catch wind of another John Henry who could potentially disrupt his plans.

“100 percent we’re going to butt heads,” Parks teased to Express.co.uk.

“Starting episode four is when we start digging into John Henry’s past.”

Episode four, Too Close to Home, thankfully airs this Tuesday night, so it won’t be long before fans start to piece together John Henry’s past.

Plus, if the start of the season is anything to go by, Steel and Mannheim’s team could have several intense physical encounters in store.

“It’s great to work with Chad, Chad’s amazing,” Parks continued. “His voice… he brings a gravitas.

“This guy doesn’t have any powers, he’s a human being. But he also controls this hugely powerful gang, and there’s a reason he’s able to do that. There’s a ruthlessness to him.”

Parks’ co-star Coleman also sat down with Express.co.uk to talk through Superman and Lois’ newest rivalry.

“It’s incredible, it’s incredible,” he teased. “Super intense, and he’s a great actor. To dance with him is a hell of a ride.”

“It’s going to blow your socks off. We’ve got great, great stuff together.

“I knew him a bit from All American. And he was the love interest of my ex.

“So we spent one day on set, all day together at this high school reunion. And I love the dude.

“So I’ve got some unresolved stuff with him. But he’s incredible, yeah, we had the greatest time together, that’s for sure.”

John Henry and Mannheim will finally get their first head-to-head in Tuesday night’s episode, but there’s also more drama to come for the Superman family.

A synopsis for episode four, reads: “Lois interrupts an intense conversation between Clark and John Henry.

“Kyle tries to run interference between Sarah and Lana; Jonathan has a heated discussion with Candice’s dad.”

For the time being, Mannheim has been laying low whilst Lois and Clark investigate his schemes, but another epic bout is sure to come later in the season.

Superman and Lois season 3 continues Tuesdays on The CW in the USA and is available to stream on BBC iPlayer in the UK.
