Although viewers are dreading NCIS Los Angeles’ season 14 finale, many are eager to see how the long-running drama will conclude.
As well as the fate of their favourite characters, fans are eagerly awaiting Hetty Lange’s (played by Linda Hunt) potential return.
The beloved operations manager has been MIA since the season 13 premiere and has only made sporadic appearances via video call or a coded message.
At the time, Hunt's absence was due to COVID-19 as bosses adhered to social distancing restrictions rules.
However, as she has yet to return to the office of special projects, fans are convinced she could make a surprise comeback during the finale, which will also mark Callen’s (Chris O’Donnell) wedding.

Thankfully for fans, an insider revealed major details about the upcoming finale.
“If it’s surprises you want, I’ll say this much: The conclusion of the two-parter ends in a way that absolutely caught me off-guard.
“As in, I literally exclaimed, ‘Oh, wow’ as the very final minutes started unspooling.”
Speaking TVLine, they continued: “The Callen/Anna wedding is lovely and all.
“But there are moments both before and after the last-minute ceremony that are much, much more emotionally charged. Seriously, have Kleenex in good supply!”
What could be more emotional than wedding bells for Callen than seeing his estranged mentor make a shock return to the action?
Fans believe Hetty will be in attendance for Callen and Anna Kolchek’s (Bar Paly) wedding because she is an important member of the agent’s life and has known him since he was five years old.
She took him under her wing when Callen’s mother was killed and has since been committed to keeping him safe.
Showrunner R Scott Gemmil had previously confirmed Hetty’s return and said: “Hetty has been an integral force within the agency and an especially important part of Callen’s past.
"As Callen starts thinking about his upcoming wedding to Anna, he would want Hetty present.
“The plan is to go and rescue her at some point and find out what she’s gotten herself into in Syria, but we’re just trying to figure out when we can pull it off.
“The goal is to make it happen this season,” he confirmed.
NCIS Los Angeles season 14 concludes Sunday on CBS in the USA and on Sky Max in the UK.
