This Morning’s Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield ‘not as close anymore’ behind scenes

ITV stars Holly Willoughby, 42, and Phillip Schofield, 61, have reportedly drifted apart off-camera despite being known for their close friendship.

The pair, who have together presented hit daytime show This Morning for 14 years, are apparently not as close as they used to be.

Reports say the relationship has “cooled somewhat” and that there has been a rift growing between them after months of their partnership being under strain from various external forces.

It has also been claimed that, for the first time, Holly has made it clear “she’d want to stay” if Phillip were to leave the show.

This will come to a shock to many fans, as the dynamic TV duo still appear to be having a whale of a time together on camera.

“Professionally you would have no idea there was anything going on because on camera they are acting exactly the same.

"But behind the scenes their relationship has cooled,” the source continued. “Before there would be a lot of banter and camaraderie off camera but that has dwindled.”

The publication went on to claim that the pair rarely speak off camera, and suggest the stress of Phillip’s brother Timothy Schofield going to court also added to the strain.

Timothy was found guilty of 11 offences involving a child between 2016 and 2019 and is due to be sentenced next week.

“Holly and Phil have gone through rough patches before like any professional pairing who have worked together for over a decade,” the source claimed.

“Before they have always seemed to move on, but this time it seems different.”

The source also suggested that Holly’s “bosses at ITV know she would wish to stay if Phil ever did choose to move on” and that she has “made her position clear”.
