Alexis Mac Allister will reportedly only leave Brighton for a Champions League club this summer.
It leaves Man Utd in a strong position ahead of a potential summer move, while fellow suitors Liverpool have work to do to finish in the top four.
The Athletic report that the World Cup winner has a deal with Brighton that will see the Seagulls have a say in his final destination, although Mac Allister is likely to only leave for a team in the Champions League.
Roberto De Zerbi’s side could qualify for the Europa League come the end of the campaign, boosting their chances of keeping Mac Allister, Moises Caicedo and Kaoru Mitoma.
