Transfer news LIVE: Man Utd want £40m Kane partner, Arsenal's Rice bid, Chelsea swap deal

Arsenal are ready to launch their first bid for Declan Rice but the proposal won't be submitted until the end of the season.

That's because the Hammers captain is focused on the club's last few matches of the season - including their UEFA Conference League final against Fiorentina in Prague.

Ultimately, it would be the perfect way for Rice to sign off in style as West Ham captain as he prepares to pursue a move that will see him play Champions League football.

Fabrizio Romano is reporting that Arsenal are now readying their first bid for the England international as they prepare to break their club-record transfer fee for the 24-year-old.

"Arsenal are preparing opening proposal for Declan Rice as he remains the priority target for summer transfer window; they could sign two midfielders depending on outgoings," Romano said.

"No negotiations now to respect West Ham; talks will take place in June."
