Chelsea have also identified Brighton star Caicedo as a target and are set to pursue him aggressively soon, having sounded out the Ecuador international’s entourage in recent weeks.
The Seagulls are willing to entertain offers for Caicedo this summer, though they are aware that there is plenty of interest in the 21-year-old – namely from Arsenal – and will only allow him to leave for a significant fee.
Levi Colwill could prove central in negotiations between Chelsea and Brighton given that Roberto De Zerbi is desperate to retain the services of the defender, with a £30m bid recently being rejected for his services.
A second offer is currently being considered although the Blues have insisted that he is not for sale. But being open to negotiations for Colwill could aid their bid to sign Caicedo.
