EastEnders wedding at risk as Rocky's past comes back to haunt him

EastEnders fans will remember that a few months ago Rocky's (played by Brian Conley) wife Jo Cotton (Vicki Michelle) turned up on the Square.

While he informed her they were still married, Rocky insisted he wanted nothing more to do with her.

While the incident sparked a furious row between Rocky and his fiancée Kathy Beale (Gillian Taylforth), the two eventually worked their way through it and have been excited to finally tie the knot.

However, more from Rocky's past will be revealed when Jo makes a comeback in future episodes.

It seems he has been hiding even more from Kathy than she initially thought.

In scenes of the BBC soap yet to air, Kathy is fretting about organising Lola Pearce's (Danielle Harold) wake, and Rocky is determined to take the stress off her but his day is disrupted when Jo rocks up with their divorce papers.

Rocky desperately tries to keep Jo away from Kathy.

When they catch up later, Rocky wonders why he didn't receive his papers via post but as Rocky leaves, Jo rattles him by telling him 'Jasper says hello'.

Later, Rocky furtively calls Jo and demands to talk about 'his boy'.

Bobby Beale (Clay Milner Russell) is horrified when he overhears Rocky on the phone to Jo saying she can't keep "his boy from him".

He immediately tells Kathy, who rushes to confront Rocky.

Jo arrives mid-row and announces that if Rocky wants to see Jasper, he'll have to come to The Vic and beg.

Elsewhere, Kathy makes decisions about who she wants at her wedding.

Rocky starts making calls, hopeful to get Kathy the guests she wants at their wedding and he enlists the help of Bobby.

But could Kathy be having second thoughts after uncovering yet another lie from Rocky?

Actress Jo talked about her character's return and what she is after.

"She wants to come back and create some animosity," she explained, adding: "She’s loving seeing Rocky squirm.

"Every time he sees her, he feels threatened by her.

"He loves Kathy but Jo is the spanner in the works. Jo is obviously gloating because Rocky thinks he’s got signed divorce papers, but has he? There lies the question.

"And so if he marries Kathy, is it legal? She’s there to really stir it up because he broke her heart 25 years ago."

Speaking about Jasper, she added: "Well obviously when Jo and Rocky were together they had Jasper, and they both loved him, but I think Rocky really, really loved him.

"She’s still got that hanging over him so she uses that as a weapon when she tells Rocky that Jasper sends his love."

EastEnders continues on Wednesday at 7.30pm on BBC One.
