Gogglebox fan favourites announce they're taking break from show

The 21st series of Channel 4’s Gogglebox concluded last week and one of the most beloved families is taking a break from the show.

Julie Malone took to her Instagram account to share a snap of her and her family along with an announcement that they would be taking some time off from filming the hit show.

In the caption, Julie outlined: “Well that's a wrap!! Enjoy tonight's show! Thanks for all your support. Have a great summer from us all xx."

Fans were quick to comment on how much they would miss watching the family.

One person wrote: “Will miss you all, highlight of my week, roll on next series.”

While another said: “Gonna miss gogglebox , wish it was on all year but hope you all have a great summer.”

A third added: “Ah it's over way to soon, will count the days to the next series.”

While another added: “Thanks for all the laughs! Have a great Summer. Look forward to seeing you all back in September.” (sic)

However, viewers will be able to keep up with the couple on social media, as Julie has recently shared some videos from their travels to the United States.

In recent Instagram posts, Julie and Tom have already checked off San Francisco. California, before jetting off to sunny Honolulu in Hawaii.

They’ve not yet revealed where they will be visiting yet, so fans will need to keep an eye on Julie’s page to see where they explore next.

The Malone family quickly became one of the most beloved on the programme, after they made their debut back in 2014. And they have been series regulars ever since.

Julie and her husband, Tom Sr, are often joined by their children Shaun and Vanessa as they voice their opinions on that week’s TV.

The couple’s son Tom Jr, who appeared in earlier episodes, left in 2021 to explore other opportunities. Fans can often expect to see the family’s rottweilers on the sofa with them, as well as plenty of sweet treats within reach on their ottoman.

Gogglebox is expected to return in September, as it has in previous years, while the celebrity version of the show should air sometime this summer.

Previous episodes of Gogglebox can be streamed on Channel 4.
