Man Utd takeover LIVE: Sheikh Jassim's drop-out threat as Glazers 'on verge' of agreement

Good news for those Manchester United fans who want to see the back of the Glazers in the coming months...

According to CBS Sports, parties involved in the takeover process looking for minority investment have grown less confident of success.

A cluster of US hedge funds are involved in the sale running as a means to allow the Glazer family to remain in control at Old Trafford.

But journalist Ben Jacobs has explained there is a hint of pessimism about their chances.

He told Football Fan Cast: "My understanding is that the minority investors are largely just waiting at this point. They now have a lower confidence that option will be one that the Glazers take.

"It looks like the focus is now on the two main groups, INEOS and the Nine Two Foundation.

"Of course, no sale can ever be ruled out, but I wouldn't want to go in and paint to Manchester United fans that that is a likely scenario."
