Phillip Schofield breaks silence on claims of 'rebuilding career' through TalkTV role

Phillip Schofield has spoken out on whether he would join TalkTV following his sensational This Morning exit.

Phillip, 61, quit ITV's This Morning after two decades following an affair with a younger male colleague.

The veteran presenter said during a recent BBC interview with Amol Rajan he thought his "career was over".

However, Andy Barr, chief executive officer for 10 Yetis Digital, claimed earlier today (Saturday, June 10) Phillip could return to screens in the future.

"TalkTV could be the career rebuilding platform that Schofield needs right now," he told The Daily Star.

TalkTV presenters include former Good Morning Britain host Piers Morgan and former ITV star Jeremy Kyle.

The source added: "If the current media spotlight reveals no new allegations then this is entirely recoverable for him and TalkTV could be the perfect place for him to start again in a high-profile media environment."

However, a legal representative for Phillip has confirmed he is not planning on joining TalkTV, telling The Mirror: "Absolutely not as far as I know." has contacted the legal representative for comment.

During Phillip's BBC interview, he said: "I have to talk about television in the past tense, which breaks my heart.

"What am I going to do with my days? I see nothing ahead of me but blackness, sadness regret, remorse and guilt. I did something very wrong, and then I lied about it consistently."

He said the young man, who was a runner for This Morning, was 20 when their relationship became romantic.

He recently told The Sun that he felt he had let his This Morning co-host Holly Willoughby "down".

"I let her down," he shared. "I let that entire show down. I let the viewers down.

"Holly did not know and she was one of the first texts that I sent, to say: 'I am so, so sorry that I lied to you'.

"She didn't reply and I understand why she didn't reply as well. So, yeah, if anyone is in any way linking Holly to this, that is absolutely, wholly untrue."

Holly returned to This Morning on Monday and has been working alongside Craig Doyle and Josie Gibson.

This Morning airs on weekdays at 10pm on ITV and ITVX.
