Erik ten Hag's dream 25-man Man Utd squad after transfer window closes with six signings

Manchester United have made just one signing so far in the summer transfer window. However, their 25-man Premier League squad could look a lot different by September if Erik ten Hag gets his way.

Mason Mount is the only player United have signed so far. He arrived from Chelsea for a fee of up to £60million including add-ons.

Ten Hag is in desperate need of bringing in at least one new goalkeeper. He is also hoping to sign a striker to add to his limited options in attack.

United are working on a restricted budget so will have to be smart with incomings and outgoings. Express Sport looks at how Ten Hag's 25-man squad could look come the end of the window.

Goalkeepers - ONANA, SUZUKI, Heaton

David de Gea's exit has left a big hole in the United squad. The Spaniard left at the end of June when his contract expired.

Andre Onana is the leading candidate to replace him at Old Trafford. An agreement is getting closer with Inter Milan, with personal terms not an issue.

United are also working on a deal for Japanese shot-stopper Zion Suzuki. He could come in as the backup to Onana, with Tom Heaton staying in his role as third choice.

Defenders - Varane, DISASI, Martinez, Lindelof, Shaw, Malacia, Dalot, Wan-Bissaka

Defence is an area that probably needs the least additions to it. Ten Hag found a solid back four last season when fit.

Raphael Varane and Lisandro Martinez formed a strong partnership, with Aaron Wan-Bissaka thriving again and Luke Shaw solid as ever at left-back.

Diogo Dalot and Tyrell Malacia are good backup options at full-back. One position Ten Hag does want to add to is at centre-back, with Monaco star Axel Disasi on his radar.

The 25-year-old is a full France international, having made his senior debut last year. United may have to fight off competition from Newcastle for his signature.

Midfielders - Casemiro, AMRABAT, MOUNT, Eriksen, Bruno Fernandes, McTominay

Casemiro was a huge addition to the United midfield last season. He arrived alongside Christian Eriksen and the pair added top quality alongside Bruno Fernandes.

Mount has already joined to provide a different option for Ten Hag. It will be interesting to see where the England international fits in.

Another midfielder United are linked with is Fiorentina star Sofyan Amrabat. The Moroccan excelled at the World Cup in Qatar and would provide more defensive stability in the middle of the park.

Forwards - Rashford, Antony, Greenwood, HOJLUND, Sancho, Martial

Harry Kane was the top striker target heading into the summer. However, Tottenham's asking price is way beyond what United can spend.

Atalanta youngster Rasmus Hojlund is now the first choice for Ten Hag. He has only had one season in Serie A but has already impressed in his early days as a full Denmark international.

He could come straight in as the starting forward, with Anthony Martial's reliability still in question.

United don't have to name players under the age of 21 in their 25-man squad. Exciting young talent at Old Trafford includes Teden Mengi, Hannibal Mejbri, Kobbie Mainoo, Amad and Facundo Pellistri.

Alejandro Garnacho is the most experienced of the crop. The 19-year-old featured in 19 Premier League matches last term.

Players sold

A host of high-profile players could be on their way out of United. Goalkeeper Dean Henderson, defenders Eric Bailly, Harry Maguire, Alex Telles and Brandon Williams could all be leaving.

Midfield duo Fred and Donny van de Beek are up for sale. Winger Anthony Elanga will also be allowed to go on a permanent basis.
