Sheikh Jassim may need to watch his transfer spending if he buys United in spite of his incredible wealth, according to football finance expert Kieran Maguire.
The Red Devils are believed to be chasing an £85m move for France striker Randal Kolo Muani, per Fabrizio Romano, but Maguire has warned that such expensive deals would risk breaching UEFA's financial regulations.
"For UEFA, it’s slightly more complex," he told Football Insider when quizzed on how United could get around the strict rules.
"They have recently changed to their new financial sustainability regulations which allow clubs to only lose £51m over a three-year period.
"Also, we’re effectively moving to a wage cap of 70 per cent of revenues, although admittedly this has not been an issue for United in recent years."
