With pre-season camps looming for most clubs, the regrouping has acted as a stark reminder that sides must accelerate their transfer business if new signings are to be settled for the 2023/24 campaign. Liverpool, Arsenal and Tottenham have welcomed several signings already this summer, though other members of the ‘Big Six’ are yet to truly show their hand.

Declan Rice’s move to the Gunners is expected to be wrapped up imminently, and the knock-on effects of the £105million transfer are certain to be visible. Notably, Brighton are looking for a similar fee for the services of Moises Caicedo – who Chelsea have made their top target this summer.

West Ham will also need to replace their club captain and have highlighted Southampton’s James Ward-Prowse as the ideal candidate to fill the void in their midfield. However, Liverpool and Spurs have also been linked with the England international previously which could prompt a rethink at both respective sides.

Elsewhere, Manchester United appear to be closing in on their second signing of the summer in the shape of Andre Onana, with negotiations set to conclude with Inter Milan imminently. We’ll keep you up to date on that saga and all other transfer news…
