Mauricio Pochettino agrees with Gary Neville as Chelsea transfer plans confirmed
Chelsea boss Mauricio Pochettino has agreed with Gary Neville that his squad still needs 'balance'. The Blues picked up their first win of the new Premier League season on Friday night after beating Luton Town 3-0 at Stamford Bridge.
Raheem Sterling and Nicolas Jackson led the way in attack with Enzo Fernandez controlling the game from midfield. Pochettino still wants two more signings before the summer transfer window closes - with a new goalkeeper and versatile forward on the club's agenda.
Chelsea are expected to sign goalkeeper Djordje Petrovic from New England Revolution after the youngster completed a medical earlier this week. The Blues have agreed a deal with the MLS club – believed to be around £12.5million, plus another £1.5million in add-ons.
Speaking after the win against Luton, Pochettino confirmed Chelsea's transfer plans for the final six days of the summer window. “We want a goalkeeper and an offensive player more, but the right profile — one who can play all across the line," the Chelsea boss said.
“It's what we need to provide the team with good balance in different areas," he added. Neville has agreed that Pochettino needs to find the right balance in his squad.
The former Manchester United defender believes the Blues must sign another new forward in order to help the likes of Sterling and Jackson flourish. "I think the balance needs working on," Neville toldSky Sports.
