Ange Postecoglou helps Tottenham set Premier League record amid major Son Heung-min admission


Tottenham are in the midst of a full week of training in preparation for their Premier League clash against Liverpool. Many of Spurs' rivals are competing in the third round of the Carabao Cup but Ange Postecoglou's side were knocked out by Fulham in the previous round.

Following on from the thrilling draw with Arsenal, another difficult clash is on the horizon for Spurs as they welcome Jurgen Klopp's Liverpool to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. The impressive performance against their North London rivals is still on the minds of many with the point at Emirates Stadium seeing Spurs set a new Premier League record.

Captain Son Heung-min starred in the derby with his brace helping Spurs break that record, although he has praised the display of his team-mate James Maddison. It was the first North London Derby for the attacking midfielder with Destiny Udogie and Guglielmo Vicario also among the stars experiencing it for the first time, with the latter delivering a strong verdict on the game.

Premier League record set

Tottenham can label themselves as the new comeback kings of the Premier League with a major record broken courtesy of the point picked up against Arsenal. Spurs had to come from behind twice to claim a point in the North London Derby with captain Son Heung-min netting both goals.

From six Premier League games played so far this season, Tottenham have come from behind in four to achieve 14 points with an unbeaten start which has resulted in a new record being set. As posted on their official website, the club can now call themselves the 'comeback kings' with the draw against Arsenal taking Spurs above Manchester United in the table for points won from losing positions.

Son's Maddison admission

Tottenham captain Son Heung-min has heaped praise on James Maddison following his performance in his North London Derby debut. The attacking midfielder, who picked up a brace of assists in the 2-2 draw against Arsenal, joined Spurs from Leicester in the summer for £40million and he has already made a significant impact in Ange Postecoglou's new-look Tottenham team.

Harry Kane's dominated transfer talk for Spurs which meant Maddison's signing went slightly under the radar but it has already proven to be an astute piece of business. Replacing Kane, given his goal scoring quality and creative ability, is seen as near impossible but Son has admitted Maddison believes he can reach his level with the Spurs skipper already proving, if it wasn't already known, he can be the main man for goals.

Vicario reflects on Arsenal clash

Guglielmo Vicario believes Tottenham Hotspur should have beaten Arsenal in the North London Derby. A tightly contested game resulted in Spurs twice coming from behind to snatch a point.

Sharing the spoils means Spurs remain ahead of Arsenal in the league on goal difference - but Vicario wanted more. The 26-year-old has impressed since arriving from Empoli in the summer and, speaking to media in Italy, claimed Spurs deserved to take all three points.
