Arsenal given huge Gabriel Magalhaes update amid Brazil injury scare ahead of Everton clash

Arsenal have been handed a huge boost ahead of their Premier League clash against Everton this weekend. Mikel Arteta was left sweating over the fitness of Gabriel Magalhaes after the Brazilian defender had seemingly suffered an injury whilst away on international duty.

Gabriel took part in Brazil training after Arsenal were left sweating over his fitness, according to Charles Watts. Reports out of the Brazil national team camp suggest that scans on the thigh problem he suffered against Bolivia showed no sign of any injury. The 25-year-old is now expected to start for Brazil against Peru on Tuesday.

Gabriel is likely to start against Everton with Thomas Partey still recovering from a groin injury. The 30-year-old missed the win against United and is not expected to return until after the October international break.

Two ex-Chelsea stars agree on 'amazing' Arsenal star Bukayo Saka amid Lionel Messi comparison

Former Chelsea duo Joe Cole and Andriy Shevchenko have agreed on their verdict of Arsenal star Bukayo Saka following England's 1-1 draw against Ukraine. The 22-year-old's performances in the last 12 months have seen him rightfully named on the shortlist for the Ballon d'Or award.

Saka was talismanic for the Gunners last season after scoring 15 goals and providing 11 assists in 48 appearances across all competitions. The England international's importance at Arsenal cannot be understated after he has already played close to 14,000 minutes across all competitions for the senior team, since making his breakthrough under Mikel Arteta in 2019.

Saka's form for Arsenal and England has seen him emerge as one of Gareth Southgate's few undroppables for the Three Lions. In fact, Cole believes the Gunners star has the same ability cutting in off the right wing as one of the greatest players to ever play the game - Lionel Messi.

Speaking to Channel 4 after England drew 1-1 against Ukraine in their European Championship 2024 qualifying clash, Cole said: "He's [Saka] got an ability to cut in, just like Lionel Messi, which very few players have. Mohamed Salah has it, Lionel Messi has it and Bukayo Saka has it."

Arsenal transfer 'promise' made as Edu set clear £68m demand after failed bid

Arsenal have 'promised' to return with an offer for Sporting CP defender Ousmane Diomande next summer. The Gunners completed the signings of Kai Havertz, Declan Rice, Jurrien Timber and David Raya during the summer transfer window - but seemingly missed out on Diomande's signature.

The Gunners finished second last season - five points behind Manchester City - and are now looking to bring silverware back to the Emirates Stadium. Arsenal have added young players with huge amounts of talent to their squad in an effort to close the gap to City and win a trophy this term.

However, reports in Portugal have claimed that the Gunners missed out on Diomande's signing after the 19-year-old impressed for Sporting last season. The young defender made 34 appearances for the Portuguese outfit last term, scoring two goals and providing one assist - along with keeping 11 clean sheets in all competitions.

Arsenal remain interested in Diomande and have promised to return next summer, according to Record. Sporting are said to have rejected a €35million (£30million) offer from Arsenal during the summer transfer window.
