Arsenal progress into Carabao Cup fourth round as Edu handed Victor Osimhen transfer chance

Arsenal switched Premier League action for the EFL Cup on Wednesday night as they made the short trip across London to face Brentford. The Gunners have been under pressure to deliver a trophy once again under Mikel Arteta, following a season of success as well as a large transfer spend.

Arsenal made eight changes from the side that drew 2-2 against Tottenham in the North London Derby - with many of those made due to injuries to key players. Reiss Nelson - who replaced the injured Bukayo Saka - scored the only goal of the game against Brentford as the Gunners progressed into the Carabao Cup fourth round.

With that said, here's a look at the biggest Arsenal headlines ahead of another busy day.

Aaron Ramsdale returns as Arsenal progress into Carabao Cup fourth round

Arsenal earned a hard-fought win over Brentford in the third round of the Carabao Cup. Mikel Arteta's side will face West Ham at the London Stadium in the fourth round as they continue their push to win the first domestic trophy of the 2023/24 campaign.

Arsenal took the lead after just nine minutes after a mistake from Zanka was latched on to by Eddie Nketiah. The striker then squared the ball to Reiss Nelson who slotted past Mark Flekken.

Aaron Ramsdale was shown plenty of love from the travelling Arsenal fans as he made a number of crucial saves to keep a vital clean sheet - helping the Gunners progress into the next round. The equally as impressive Jakub Kiwior prevented an equaliser late in the game as Arsenal continued their unbeaten run in all competitions.
