Eddie Nketiah, Gabriel Jesus: Arsenal injury news and return dates ahead of Man Utd clash

[ UK TV LIVE ]

Arsenal will nearly have every player fit and available to face Manchester United this weekend.

Jurrien Timber continues to recover from a serious knee injury that he suffered on his Gunners debut against Nottingham Forest. Gabriel Jesus, Eddie Nketiah and Oleksandr Zinchenko have all recovered from their individual injury concerns over the last few weeks but the trio have all trained this week and will be available for the weekend.

Raphael Varane has joined Luke Shaw, Mason Mount and Tyrell Malacia on the injury list at Old Trafford with both set to miss the clash in north London. With that said, football.london has rounded up the latest Arsenal injury news ahead of taking on Man United at Emirates Stadium this weekend.

Eddie Nketiah

Nketiah came off the bench to put Arsenal 2-1 ahead against Fulham with a well-timed run and strike. Rumours then circulated that the Hale Ender picked up a knee injury.

The striker did, however, finish the game and conducted media interviews afterward and football.london understands the gossip was wide of the mark.

The striker made his first appearance of the season off the bench in the draw against Fulham, although he only played ten minutes and was unable to grab a winner.

What Arteta has said: "The way we generated chance after chance I didn’t think it was necessary (to bring Jesus on). We decided in the last minute to bring him in. He’s only had a few days of training sessions after the surgery."

Takehiro Tomiyasu

Tomiyasu was sent off in the second half against Crystal Palace for two bookable offences. The defender will now serve a one-match suspension, meaning he will be unavailable for Fulham’s trip to the Emirates.

Jurrien Timber

What Arteta has said: "Huge blow. Especially for him after just joining the club. To have the injury he has is a huge blow. We recruited him with clear intentions and what he was bringing to the team was evident, but he's not going to be able to do it this season. We have to adapt. These things happen, unfortunately, and we have to move on."

Mohamed Elneny

The midfielder suffered a serious knee injury in January, which sidelined him for the remainder of last season. There has been little news regarding his recovery and a possible return date is currently unclear.
