'Robbed' - Tottenham fans in agreement after James Maddison penalty incident vs Sheffield United

Tottenham Hotspur supporters have flocked to social media to voice their frustrations after being denied a penalty during their Premier League clash against Sheffield United. The north Londoners have started the 2023/24 campaign in fine form, accruing ten points from their opening four league outings.

But they have struggled to unlock United's resolute backline in the first-half of their Saturday afternoon clash, with midfielder James Maddison frustrated after seemingly being brought down in the penalty area with the referee waiving play-on. Maddison went down in box after appearing to have his ankle clipped by defender Chris Basham.

But no spot-kick was given, resulting in plenty of Spurs supporters writing their frustrations on X (formerly known as Twitter). Here is what a select few said about the incident.
