Ange Postecoglou has confirmed that both Son Heung-min and James Maddison are "fine" ahead of Tottenham's Premier League encounter against Luton Town. The duo have been influential in Spurs' excellent start to the campaign but both have been carrying knocks over the past couple of weeks.

Postecoglou and Spurs have been managing their fitness as a result, with both players coming off in the Arsenal and Liverpool games to ensure that no further damage is done. With question marks still surrounding both players going into this weekend's game at Luton, the 58-year-old has issued an update that will put Tottenham fans at ease.

"The main one for us has been Manor Solomon who unfortunately during training picked up a significant knee injury," said Postecoglou in his pre-match press conference at Hotspur Way. "He will miss game time over the next few months. Brennan Johnson is close but not quite there yet. With the international break, he'll be able to recover. Sonny is fine."

When asked about wrapping Maddison up in cotton wool, he responded: "No cotton wool here, just barbed wire mate. Maddison is fine, he's trained in every session this week."

Postecoglou was also pressed on the availability of both Bryan Gil and Giovani Lo Celso after they were involved in training with the rest of the team at their Enfield training base and he gave a very short answer. He said: "Yeah Gio and Bryan both trained."
