Arsenal submit unchanged Champions League list for RC Lens clash as Thomas Partey could return

Arsenal's B-List remains unchanged for tonight's (Tuesday) UEFA Champions League Group B encounter against RC Lens as the Gunners aim to make it two wins from two.

Last month the north London outfit submitted their 25-man List A squad for the group stage matches with Cedric Soares somewhat of a surprise inclusion alongside highly-rated youngster Lino Sousa. However, there was no space for summer signing Jurrien Timber presumably because he is not expected to play again in 2023.

Although if the Dutchman does recover from the ACL injury sustained on his Premier League debut against Nottingham Forest across the opening weekend of the new season then he can be registered at a later date as long as Mikel Arteta's side are in European competition in the new year.

Speaking of the Arsenal manager, his options for the Lens clash have been boosted. As per UEFA guidelines: 'Each club is entitled to register an unlimited number of players on List B during the season. The list must be submitted by no later than 11pm on the day before the match in question'.

Now, a player may be registered on List B if he is born on, or after, January 1 2002 and has been eligible to play for the club concerned for any uninterrupted period of two years since his 15th birthday (players aged 16 may be submitted if they have been registered with the club for the previous two years).

The Gunners have complied with the list showing up on UEFA's official website and it shows no changes from a fortnight ago with Karl Hein included alongside some of the club's most promising youngsters such as Ethan Nwaneri, Reuell Walters, Myles Lewis-Skelly and Amario Cozier-Duberry.

Making use of being entitled to name an unlimited number of players, the full list is as follows: Goalkeepers: Karl Hein, Ovie Ejeheri, Alexei Rojas. Defenders: Taylor Foran, Zane Monlouis, Elian Quesada-Thorn, Joshua Robinson, James Lannin-Sweet, Reuell Walters, Ayden Heaven, Luis Brown, Joshua Nichols, Michal Rosiak, Coby Small, Reece Clairmont.

Midfielders: Miguel Azeez, Jack Henry-Francis, Bradley Ibrahim, Myles Lewis-Skelly, Ethan Nwaneri, Ismail Oulad M'Hand, Charles Sagoe Jr, Harrison Dudziak, Kamarni Ryan, Bless Akolbire, Louie Copley. Forwards: Amario Cozier-Duberry, Henry Davies, Khayon Edwards, Omari Benjamin, Sebastian Ferdinand, Romari Forde, Ismeal Kabia, Osman Kamara, Jakai Bascoe-Fisher.

Of those youngsters, Sagoe Jr - who made his senior debut against Brentford last week - were called up by Arteta to part in Monday's first-team training session at London Colney along with Walters, Oulad M'Hand, Henry-Francis, Gower, Akolbire, Edwards, Sousa and Cozier-Duberry.

As a result, those registered on the B-List and have been named in the Arsenal U19s provisional squad for the UEFA Youth League clash against Lens are likely to find themselves on standby for the main fixture tonight just in case some may be required to make up the numbers on the substitutes bench.

Having said that, as Thomas Partey from List A is in line to make his return from injury, Arteta can name a full 23-man matchday squad - which wasn't the case against PSV as he opted for 11 substitutes instead of 12 - which reduces the chances of any aforementioned youngster pulling double duty.
