Four forgotten Chelsea stars spotted as Christopher Nkunku sends two-word message after Burnley win

Chelsea came from behind to beat Burnley and enter the October international break in some style with their second consecutive away win. The Blues beat Fulham at Craven Cottage this past Monday evening and five days later Mauricio Pochettino's side followed that up with a 4-1 win against Burnley.

Raheem Sterling and Cole Palmer stole the show for the visitors with one of the attackers involved in every goal scored at Turf Moor. Despite playing a huge role in the first two goals, Sterling will not technically be awarded an assist with his cross leading to an own goal before he was the player fouled in the penalty box that allowed Palmer to net his first goal for the club.

However, his afternoon ended abruptly after he looked to suffer a hamstring injury late into the game with Ian Maatsen swiftly brought on in his place. Following the win, Chelsea duo Reece James and Christopher Nkunku were quick to post messages to their team-mates as they both wait to return to Pochettino's matchday squad.

Here's your latest Chelsea headlines from on Sunday, October 8.

Forgotten stars spotted

The full scale of the task remaining at Chelsea for Mauricio Pochettino has become clearer than ever in the past week. With wins against Brighton and Fulham the pressure and expectation to keep the form up heightened whilst players around the squad continued to drop like flies.

The mood has, however, dramatically changed at Stamford Bridge and nothing has quite shown that like the positive vibe seen during videos emerging from the squad photo earlier this week. With 29 players included in the photo, everything Mauricio Pochettino is dealing with was in full view.

Nothing perhaps summed it up more than seeing five players yet to feature for the club this season. Amongst them was key summer signing Christopher Nkunku but also alongside him was Benoit Badiashile and Romeo Lavia. The trio will be hoping to have a big impact on proceedings after the international break.

Pochettino claim

Mauricio Pochettino has defended his continued use of Levi Colwill in an unnatural left-back role as the 20-year-old continues to play out of position this season. Having come back from loan at Brighton as one of the best-rated young defenders in the world, he has been shifted across the backline so far and only got the opportunity to play centrally in the cup.

It isn't something that is worrying Pochettino though, especially after he picked up an assist in the 2-0 win over Fulham on Monday. "The good thing is that he is a player who can play both positions and his performance is going to be the same," the head coach explained. "He can play well as a full back or as a centre back. Because he has the characteristics and the capacity and the quality.

"For me it’s amazing what he is doing from the day he arrived to Chelsea with us, coming back after the loan at Brighton, and we are so happy with him in all aspects: his performance, professional aspects and personality. He is young but very mature."

Nkunku fires Chelsea message

Christopher Nkunku has sent a message to his Chelsea team-mates after their dominant win against Burnley in the Premier League. The Blues had to come from behind to secure back-to-back away wins and they did so in style with Raheem Sterling, Cole Palmer and Nicolas Jackson all on target.

The Blues had struggled for goals in the first few months of the season without their summer signing but there was no shyness in front of goal at Turf Moor. Sterling was particularly impressive on his return to the starting XI after being named on the bench for the 2-0 at Fulham after an illness saw him miss a number of training sessions.

Following the victory, amid his ongoing recovery from a serious knee injury, Nkunku sent a big message to the Chelsea squad after their display against Burnley.
