Premier League release VAR audio for Tottenham vs Liverpool amid Manor Solomon transfer fee

[ WATCH TV LIVE ]

The Premier League have now released the VAR audio that took place during Luis Diaz's disallowed goal for Liverpool against Tottenham on Saturday. The on-field decision was given as offside and a VAR check was subsequently undertaken but a miscommunication as to what the actual decision was on the pitch led to the significant error.

Meanwhile, Shakhtar Donetsk remain in talks over Manor Solomon's transfer fee after he signed for Spurs in the summer. Spurs were the beneficiaries of FIFA’s Annex 7 ruling when they signed the winger on a free transfer earlier this year.

Shakhtar Donetsk chief reveals talks with Tottenham over Manor Solomon transfer fee

Shakhtar Donetsk chief executive Serhiy Palkin has confirmed the club are negotiating with Tottenham Hotspur over a package for Manor Solomon.

Spurs were the beneficiaries of FIFA’s Annex 7 ruling when they signed the winger on a free transfer earlier this year. Introduced following Vladimir Putin’s invasion, the legislation allows any foreign footballer or manager playing in Russia or Ukraine to suspend their contracts with immediate effect.

That allowed Tottenham to sign Solomon, valued at around £20million, for nothing. The controversial changes have been condemned by Ukrainian officials, who risk their clubs facing bankruptcy with no money recouped from outgoings.

Replay 2019 Champions League final! Luis Diaz incident not only Tottenham vs Liverpool injustice

There is a sense of injustice around Liverpool Football Club at the moment and rightly so. Or at least semi-rightly so.

The Reds were wrongly denied a goal during the game with Spurs at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Saturday when Luis Diaz was adjudged to have been offside before scoring past Guglielmo Vicario. Diaz was clearly onside and the mistake came when the VAR believed the on-field decision to have been a goal when relaying to Simon Hooper "check complete".

It was another 45 seconds later that Hooper was made aware there had been a miscommunication and a huge error made. Nothing could be done by then, with the game already back under way under International FA Board VAR protocols and the Laws of the Game - a ludicrous rule in itself.

Premier League release VAR audio for Tottenham vs Liverpool Luis Diaz offside goal

The Premier League have made the audio from the VAR room from Liverpool versus Tottenham, who incorrectly disallowed Luis Diaz's offside goal, public. The on-field decision was given as offside and a VAR check was subsequently undertaken but a miscommunication as to what the actual decision was on the pitch led to the significant error.

Amid Liverpool's formal request to hear the audio and calls for the clash to be replayed, the audio from Stockley Park while the review was ongoing has been revealed by the Premier League. Darren England, who was the head VAR operator for the game can be heard promptly saying 'check complete' with it clear his understanding was that the goal had been given.

In the audio clip, a visual picture is also provided which shows the 2D lines being drawn on the pitch and the second they touch Cristian Romero's boot, the VAR decision is confirmed. Following the game restarting, the officials in the VAR room can be heard frantically discussing what to do next. Messages are then sent to the fourth official requesting him to delay the game roughly seven seconds after the decision was made.
