Ramsdale stance confirmed

Arsenal have been dealt a major blow to their hopes of selling Aaron Ramsdale to Chelsea. The 25-year-old goalkeeper has been heavily linked with an exit from the Emirates Stadium recently after falling out of favour under Mikel Arteta.

After a disappointing start to the season, keeping just one clean sheet in the Gunners' first four Premier League games, David Raya replaced Ramsdale between the sticks. With the Englishman facing an uncertain future in north London, Stamford Bridge was mooted as a potential destination.

However, according to Fabrizio Romano, Ramsdale is not on the Blues' shortlist and no negotiations have taken place. It's also said that there have been no talks at Chelsea to sign a new goalkeeper following the arrivals of Robert Sanchez and Djordje Petrovic in the summer.

Double injury update

Mauricio Pochettino has issued a fresh update on Reece James, who has recently returned to action from a hamstring injury. Speaking ahead of Chelsea's blockbuster clash with Tottenham on Monday night, the Blues boss said: "I don't know. We'll see. We'll see if he's available. It was good for him to start a game after a few months. He's a very important player."

Then on Armando Broja, who's also been nursing a knock lately, Pochettino said: "Today we were talking and maybe he will be available to be on the bench for Monday. Hope he can be involved."

It's expected to be a feisty affair when the two London giants lock horns on Monday night, and Pochettino isn't expecting a warm welcome upon his return. He added: "I'm not going to say anything at the moment because until Monday we cannot guess. The most important is people know we cannot forget what we lived together. It won't change my emotions, my feelings about a club where we spent an unbelievable journey."

Klopp message

Mauricio Pochettino will be encouraged to keep faith in Nicolas Jackson after Jurgen Klopp revealed the secret behind Darwin Nunez's transformation. The 24-year-old striker has enjoyed a brilliant start to the Premier League campaign despite struggling to impress following his transfer from Benfica last summer.

Ahead of Liverpool's clash with Luton Town this weekend, the Reds boss was quizzed on Nunez's development. Klopp said: "The first year was hard for him and for me.

"Massive talent with huge potential but it was difficult to unfold it. Now his English is so much better, he's settled in the team and everything is different. This is only the start for him. Long may it continue."
