Ange Postecoglou handed Micky van de Ven Tottenham boost as Richarlison update emerges

Tottenham must dust themselves down this weekend following Monday night's 4-1 Premier League loss to Chelsea. Ange Postecoglou's men travel to Molineux to face Wolves tomorrow looking to return to winning ways.

Unfortunately, the backlash from Monday's loss on the injury front has not gone down well. Micky van de Ven and James Maddison were both forced off and are doubts for the weekend.

Maddison's substitution seemed to be precautionary, but van de Ven's appeared to be rather serious after clutching his hamstring. However, a fresh training image from Hotspur Way has sparked a frenzy among Tottenham fans that the Netherlands international may not be a long-term absentee.

Elsewhere, an update on Richarlison's pelvis injury has emerged after the Brazilian confirmed on Monday that he had been playing through pain.

Here are your Tottenham Hotspur morning headlines on Friday, November 10.

Van de Ven boost

Tottenham Hotspur have received an injury boost with the news that defender Micky van de Ven does not require surgery on his hamstring.

READ MORE: Latest Tottenham injury news as nine miss Wolves with fresh James Maddison and Van de Ven update understands that while the recovery timeline is not yet clear for Van de Ven with more assessment required, Spurs believe that after initial observations this week surgery will not be required and the defender will be able to recover through treatment with the club's medical staff at Hotspur Way.

Postecoglou will be hoping that means less of a lay-off for Van de Ven than for other Tottenham players in recent years. Harry Kane, Toby Alderweireld and more recently Ryan Sessegnon have all required surgery on hamstring injuries and were then out of action for months.

Positive Maddison update

Gareth Southgate has provided a positive update on James Maddison after calling the Tottenham midfielder up to his England squad.

The Spurs star has been called up by Southgate for the European Championship qualifying matches against Malta at Wembley next Friday and in North Macedonia on the following Monday.

"Some of those, we could lose one today after a scan, we could lose one tomorrow. We don't really know. You'd be amazed at how complicated it is picking a squad because all clubs are of course sensitive to information and you're trying to piece everything together," he said.

"So I couldn't be certain that everybody that is in that squad will be there on Sunday night [when the squad reports for duty], varying levels of doubt. With that Callum is probably the biggest level of doubt, Callum Wilson, but equally I'm pretty confident that the others can get through and they're all keen to be in the squad so that's a really good sign."

Richarlison surgery confirmed

Tottenham have confirmed that Richarlison has undergone surgery.

In a club statement on Richarlison, it read: "We can confirm that Richarlison has undergone groin surgery today (Thursday 9 November). The Brazil international will commence his rehabilitation with our medical staff immediately, before returning to training in the coming weeks."
