Latest Arsenal injury news as five miss Sevilla amid Martin Odegaard and Gabriel Jesus update

Arsenal head coach Mikel Arteta has provided an update on Martin Odeagard ahead of the Gunners UEFA Champions League clash with Sevilla.

The Norway international missed Saturday's 1-0 defeat to Newcastle United after failing to be passed fit. Odegaard is recovering from a hip injury and hasn't featured since the 3-1 Carabao Cup loss to West Ham United.

There is hope that he may return to Mikel Arteta's side on Wednesday night. However, the Gunners boss hasn't ruled out the possibility of him making an appearance.

"Gabby (Gabriel Jesus) won't be fit, with Martin, it is uncertain, the rest no news so far," Arteta said.

Jesus, who was excellent in the reverse fixture between the two sides, will also miss the game after picking up a hamstring issue. The Brazilian is set to miss a number of weeks, with some reports suggesting he could return in December.

Two players who are almost certain to miss Wednesday's game are Emile Smith Rowe and Thomas Partey. Smith Rowe picked up a knee injury prior to last week's Carabao Cup defeat to West Ham and it currently remains to be seen how long he will be out for.

"We have an issue with him," Arteta said. "He felt something in his knee and started to feel some pain after the game - we are assessing him, but [it’s] a big worry with him. He's going to be out for weeks."

In Partey's case, the midfielder sustained a thigh injury in training before Arsenal's trip to Sevilla last month, football.london understands. Gabriel Jesus is also out after picking up a hamstring injury, with the Brazilian looking for a period on the sidelines.

Defender Jurrien Timber is a long-term absentee.
