Trossard hint, Saka fury - Three things spotted in Arsenal training ahead of Sevilla clash

Mikel Arteta has been forced to take a slightly different approach in his recent Arsenal training sessions with his squad hit by a number of injuries. The Gunners finally appeared in the clear regarding fitness concerns, minus Jurrien Timber as a long-term absentee, however four names have joined the growing injury list in the last two weeks.

Thomas Partey picked up another issue just before the away fixture against Sevilla in the Champions League with Emile Smith Rowe and Martin Odegaard suffering fresh blows in the last seven days. And now Eddie Nketiah is a doubt for the upcoming European game after he was not seen in Arsenal's open training session at London Colney on Tuesday afternoon. understands that Nketiah picked up a knock in the defeat to Newcastle, although it is believed to be minor and he could therefore feature against Sevilla. Nonetheless, with the striker not in training, Arteta will have likely been thinking about how best to replace him if necessary. With that said, has pulled together everything spotted in Arsenal training ahead of the Sevilla clash.

Leandro Trossard hint

Leandro Trossard has become quite the super-sub for Mikel Arteta and Arsenal with his two Premier League goals this season coming off the bench. The Belgian scored the only goal of the game to beat Everton in September before scoring the second goal of the comeback against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.

Minor injuries throughout the opening months of the season has meant consistency has been hard to build, although his chance could arrive tomorrow night. With Nketiah and Odegaard both doubts, while Jesus and Smith Rowe have been confirmed as out, Trossard is very likely to start in either attack or midfield.

His preferred position is on the left, although Gabriel Martinelli is the first-choice option with both wearing bibs in training, along with Declan Rice, which suggests both could make Arteta's chosen XI.

Bukayo Saka fury

Bukayo Saka has endured a mixed start to the 2023/24 season with injuries affecting him and his form. After missing the win over Manchester City, Saka now appears to have put those plaguing fitness concerns behind him with three consecutive league starts.

Away from Emirates Stadium, Saka has struggled over the last few seasons - with that highlighted in the defeat to Newcastle; however Wednesday's game is on home soil. While he will likely be delighted at that thought, in training, Saka was captured reacting angrily, with a slight smile on his face, after an incident involving Oleksandr Zinchenko and Jakub Kiwior.

Morale at a high

Despite the anger felt within the group regarding how Arsenal saw their unbeaten league run end at Newcastle, spirits were very high at London Colney. Zinchenko, Kai Havertz, Trossard and William Saliba were all spotted smiling during a number of drills.

Declan Rice and Gabriel Martinelli were also captured focus before both being seen full of joy as Arsenal appeared to end their session with a fun mini-game. Arsenal WhatsApp channel
