Who is Gabriel Moscardo? Brazilian wonderkid linked with Chelsea and PSG transfer in 2024

[ WATCH TV LIVE ]

Reports that Chelsea have agreed to sign one of Brazil's hottest talents, Gabriel Moscardo, aren't entirely correct, according to Fabrizio Romano.

Brazilian outlet Band had claimed the Blues had agreed a £21million move for the Corinthians star, with former player and now pundit Neto claiming the deal was done. Speaking on his show Os Donos da Bola, he said:: "Moscardo was sold to Chelsea. That's the information I have, that’s why he didn't play [against Bahia].

"Chelsea play what? Premier League. Who runs the Premier League? Kia. Who runs the Premier League? Giuliano Bertolucci. This is the information I have. It may not be true. But it’s hard for me to make mistakes."

Chelsea are one of many clubs tracking Moscardo, with the Brazilian looking likely to be the next Brazilian to move to west London. The Blues have already landed Andrey Santos, Angelo Gabriel and Deivid Washington, with Andrey Santos signing in January.

However, Romano has stated that Paris Saint-Germain remains in the race. He wrote on X: "Paris Saint-Germain remain among clubs keen on signing Gabriel Moscardo. The race is open - including English clubs too,

"No agreement done with Chelsea and it doesn't look imminent with Chelsea at this stage."

With that being said, football.london takes a look at the 18-year-old.

Who is Gabriel Moscardo?

Moscardo is a 18-year-old midfielder who plays for Corinthians. The youngster came through the ranks of the Timao, and made his first team debut earlier this year when he featured in the Copa Libertadores as a second half substitute.

The Corinthians starlet has made 12 senior appearances altogether.

How much could he cost?

The Brazilian side were asking for a £21.4million fee split into an £18million price with just over £3million in potential add-ons, according to reports in the summer.

Such a figure would see Corinthians make their biggest ever transfer and also retain a 10% sell-on fee. It also holds the potential to surpass the fees paid for Danilo, from Palmeiras to Nottingham Forest and Santos, to become the most expensive transfer in Brazil for a first team midfielder.

Who has he been linked to?

While Chelsea are the latest to be linked with a move, they are not the only Premier League side who have appeared to have shown an interest. Reports in Brazil over the summer suggested that Arsenal and Manchester City have also watched Moscardo, as well as Barcelona and Nottingham Forest.

Now, as per Romano's comments, PSG are also considering a move. However, Brazilian outlet GOAL has claimed that Chelsea are the only interested club to have submitted a formal proposal.
