Things are moving over in Germany, in a string of events which may well see Holland international Mathijs De Ligt come back on the market.

The youngster, once heralding as the next big thing in the same mold of Paolo Maldini, has found himself slipping down the pecking order at Bayern Munich.

A £68m move to Bayern from Juventus has never really appeared to work out, and De Ligt has only recently found himself back in the team as a result of Kim Min-jae heading off to represent South Korea at the Asia Cup.

Eric Dier, recently signed by Bayern on loan from Spurs, is expected to fall into the pecking order ahead of De Ligt as well, with Thomas Tuchel favouring the newcomer.

As per fresh reports in German outlet BILD, a summer departure is possible for the ex-Ajax star due to issues between him and his manager.

Man United are interested, given that they need to replace Raphael Varane, and manager Erik ten Hag previously worked with De Ligt at Ajax - the Red Devils are being put on red alert as a result.
