Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has revealed that his side may be without Darwin Nunez for their clash with Arsenal this weekend. The striker sustained a foot injury against Chelsea in midweek and left Anfield in a boot.

The Reds cruised to a 4-1 victory on Wednesday night to extend their lead at the top of the Premier League to five points. Diogo Jota, Conor Bradley, Dominik Szoboszlai and Luis Diaz were all on the score sheet for Liverpool, though Nunez will feel that he also should have added to his tally for the season.

The Uruguay international hit the woodwork on four occasions against Chelsea, smashing a penalty into the post late in the first half. The Blues backline could not lay a glove on the boisterous No. 9 and they struggled to deal with him for the entirety of the match.

Nunez’s wayward finishing means that he has become the first player in Premier League history to hit the woodwork four times in the same match, and he may not have the chance to make amends this weekend against Arsenal.

Klopp has revealed that the 24-year-old sustained a foot injury against Chelsea which may rule him out of the trip to the Emirates Stadium. Asked about Nunez’s misses against Chelsea, the German boss replied: “It does impact him, he's a human being. But he knows he'll another chance. The penalty miss, that hit. A little side story, I don't know if Darwin is available. After 20 minutes stood on his foot.

“He left the stadium in a boot. Nothing broken, x-ray is clear. But swollen. We have to see if his foot can get back in a boot! I've not seen him yet so we'll see. I don't judge Darwin because of the crossbar moments, I judge him for the assist for Lucho (Diaz).”
