Berlin Holocaust memorial stabbing leaves several injured as attacker on loose
A person was left in critical condition after a stabbing attack in Berlin on Friday, German media reports.
The stabbing took place near the German capital's Holocaust Memorial.
A police statement said: "At around 6 pm, a man was seriously injured by an unknown person in the field of stelae at the Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe in #Mitte.
"The injured man was taken to hospital.
"Rescue workers are on site caring for several people who had to witness the events.
"Investigations are ongoing at the crime scene."
Police have cordoned off an area between the memorial and the US Embassy.
Pictures at the scene showed large numbers of police and what appeared to be blood-stained clothing at the memorial.
