The international expert panel chair Dr Shoo Lee has expressed his sympathies and condolences to the families of the babies who died.

He said the panel's work does not aim to add to their distress, but to give them comfort that the "truth" can be realised.

Dr Lee said the aim of the panel is to provide an impartial, evidence based report based on medical evidence.

MP Sir David Davis began the press conference in London which will present what is claimed to be, "significant new evidence" in the case of the convicted child serial killer from Dr Shoo Lee, an internationally recognised neonatal medical expert.

Sir David said: "He's come here today, I suspect at his own expense, to put right what I think, anyway, is one of the major injustices of modern times."
