'Masterpiece' K-drama viewers binge-watched in 'two days' is now streaming

A hidden gem now available on Netflix, a K-drama that's been earning rave reviews as a five-star sensation, could be the streaming service's next big hit.

For those who were captivated by Squid Game, this supernatural thriller offers an equally engaging but far more emotional escape.

Korea's rise to TV drama glory comes through strongly in shows known for their fresh storytelling and endearing characters, many of which have found massive success on Netflix.

If you're eagerly awaiting the third instalment of the gruelling Squid Game competition, why not embark on an intriguing trip with Missing: The Other Side?

Spanning over two seasons, the series features charming fraudster Kim Wook (played by Go Soo), who stumbles upon the enigmatic Duon Village where spirits of missing bodies reside.

Joining forces with these spectral inhabitants, he sets out to solve the mysteries shrouding their fates. With its addition to Netflix's line-up from Saturday (1st February), the show's already sizable fan base is set to explode.

One thrilled viewer couldn't contain their excitement in a five-star Google review: "I have never watched a drama where there is no romance and agony, but this one touched me so hard that I finished 12 episodes within 2 days. I enjoyed it so much. I never skipped and every story touched me.

"If you are just skipping on this gem, you are missing a lot, my friends. This has to be one of the most unique storylines and I bet you will be hooked.

"Watch this with your family or alone but you will feel the warmth, chill, sadness, tears and every emotion possible."

Another viewer enthused: "This is such a good drama yet underrated. The story is unique. I love how they came up with that kind of idea. The casting of characters are great, too. Go Soo is really a good actor."

They continued to praise other cast members, including the handsome Song Geon-hee and 'underrated' Song Ha-jun, who they believe deserves an award for his performance in Missing: The Other Side.

Another fan exclaimed: "WAaaahhh!! Still can't move on!! The drama was so beautiful. It is not your average thriller detective story that mostly focuses only on catching the killer.

"It is more than that. It definitely goes beyond my expectations and it made me crave for more stories like this."

"Brilliant, absolutely brilliant," another K-drama enthusiast penned.

"I thought season one would be hard to beat but season two is even better. Go Soo is an amazing actor and drop dead gorgeous. He doesn't drop the ball throughout.

"Great to see Huh Joon-ho in a kind role rather than a horrible politician in a historical drama. In fact all of the actors were so good. Look forward to a season three. The production was slick and the English subtitles superb. This is a definite masterpiece."

And one ardent viewer summed it up succinctly: "If you are into mystery and detective stuff but also want to be sad and emotional, this is the perfect show for you."

Don't miss out on this beloved K-drama this weekend.
