Patrick Dorgu is reportedly on the brink of a move to Manchester United, stating "it's an opportunity for me" as he prepared to fly to England with his transfer nearing completion.
The Lecce star is set to join the Premier League giants for an initial £25.15million plus £4.19m in add-ons.
After being benched for Lecce's clash with Parma in Serie A on Friday night, his switch to Old Trafford is expected to be finalised well before Monday's 11pm transfer deadline.
Lecce president Saverio Sticchi Damiani had previously expressed reluctance to sell, but Dorgu appears eager for the clubs to reach an agreement.
He was seen shortly before boarding a plane to the UK and expressed confidence that the deal would go through. United will now have to complete the formalities as they aim to secure their first major signing of the Amorim era.
Despite a heavy summer of spending, United have had to be strategic with their finances, despite the clear need for new players.
The Denmark international is set to arrive as a specialist left wing-back, filling a role which Diogo Dalot has covered during Amorim's first two months at the helm.
With first-choice left-back Luke Shaw injured and backup Tyrell Malacia failing to impress the new boss, Dorgu's arrival could be timely.

United require fresh signings, and given Amorim's preferred 3-4-3 formation, the wing-back position has become crucial. However, the team currently lacks players who can naturally fill this role.
Amorim revealed that the club is working to bring in new recruits, provided the right players are available. He stated: "What I can say is that the club wants to improve the team. That is the most important thing. Everybody is doing things, everything, to improve the team. If we can do it or not; sometimes."
The club had initially considered Paris Saint-Germain's Nuno Mendes, but he proved too expensive, with Amorim operating under budget constraints. Mendes had previously played as a wing-back under Amorim at Sporting Lisbon.
Another option, Bournemouth's Milos Kerkez, was also explored, but the Cherries were unwilling to sell him at a low price.
