Penny Lancaster shares heartbreak as she announces emotional family loss

Penny Lancaster has announced that her beloved pet dog Bubbles has died. The Loose Women star shared the sad news with her Instagram followers with an emotional post, saying that her pet canine 'left too soon.'

Sharing a photo of a view from a window seat from an airplane, she wrote: "Our fur baby Bubbles. I still think you left too soon but I'm thankful for your time. Heaven's lucky to have you and so was I."

The devastating words were written over the blue sky, with a white heart emoji concluding the message. Penny's message just comes a week after she announced that Bubbles was diagnosed with cancer.

She penned on Instagram earlier this month: "My fur babies, my gifts from up above, my angles on earth, you warm my heart and lift my spirits. Bubbles our curly one has been diagnosed with cancer and although his recent surgery was successful, sadly it’s spread.

"Our Lilly from @battersea keeps him company and never leaves his side and the two of them never leave my side. Companions for live, for as long as that life will be and I feel blessed for every moment I spend with them."

Many of her followers flooded her with support when she made the announcement last week, with one saying: "So sorry to hear such sad news. Animals are precious. .. they are our family. They’re lucky to have such loving owners and you’re both lucky to have each other."

Another person chimed in: "Dogs are absolutely angels and deserve the very best. They give total unconditional love and those of us who have experienced the love of a dog are truly blessed."

A third also said: "Sorry to hear about Bubbles. Cherish them as long as you can. I'd be lost without my 3. We lost our first one Fleur to severe epilepsy at 19 months, which was heartbreaking."
